Victor Cartagena, whose work is featured in “Beta Space,” has lived in California since fleeing civil war in his native El Salvador in the 1980s. The scars of his country’s turbulent history are reflected in his work. He often critically analyzes the effects of war and immigration on a community. Tickets to Cartagena’s talk are $12 ($6 for members), which includes admission to the galleries from 5 to 8 PM. Space is limited and advance reservations are strongly recommended.
