In this introductory workshop, participants will render their own animation inspired by ideas of weightlessness and freedom in the exhibition Kambui Olujimi: North Star. Participants will learn the technique of rotoscope animation and use tablets and digital animation tools on the software Procreate to record a personalized movement of themselves, trace over their footage, and transform their video into a work of art. 

Participants of all experience levels are welcome. A limited number of Apple iPad tablets are available for use in the class. Participants bringing their own tablets are asked to download Procreate prior to the start of the workshop. 

Art 101 is limited to 25 participants ages 13 and up. Space is limited and advance registration is strongly recommended.
