Theme: Mixed Media Sculpture

Campers will have the opportunity to experiment with various materials, creating 3D forms and sculptures. They will progress from simple materials like modeling clay, air-dry clay, and wire armature to learning techniques for casting and molding. A dedicated segment of the camp will explore using organic and waste materials for sculptural pieces. Throughout the camp, participants practice understanding both figurative and abstract forms and incorporating color into three-dimensional shapes.

Campers also receive behind-the-scenes access to exhibitions, experiment with the artistic process, and show off their own work in a student exhibition. SJMA’s teaching artists offer in-depth art experiences inspired by current exhibitions. Teens learn how to look at, talk about, and create art in a collaborative and creative environment! 

Each week-long camp is offered Monday through Friday, 9am–3pm.

Registration is $500 ($450 for members at the Dual/Family level and above) and opens to members on Thursday, February 8, 2024. General registration begins Thursday, Feb 15, 2024.
