Third Thursday: Julie Chang

Meet artist Julie Chang and celebrate her new mural, The Valley of Hearts Delight (2017) in the cafe. The patterns and images in the vinyl mural reflect the Santa Clara Valley's agricultural history. Plum branches and blossoms grow from the corners while abstract "dim sum" (Cantonese for "heart's delight") intersect with branching paths that reference the circuit boards of early microchips.

This casual reception (6 - 8 PM) in the cafe is free with Museum admission ($5 after 5 PM, free to members). The galleries are open 5 - 8 PM. No-host bar.
